Dr. J. Scott Richardson joined his father Dr. H.K. Richardson in practice in 1975. Father and son practiced together for fourteen years before being joined by Dr. W.E. McIntosh in 1989. Dr. H.K. Richardson retired in 1989 after 30 years in practice in Carroll.
Dr. Scott Richardson is a native of Carroll and graduated from Carroll High School before attending Iowa State University for his undergraduate education.
He obtained his optometric training at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. He graduated in 1975 with membership in two honorary organizations, Beta Sigma Kappa and Sigmas Alpha Sigma.
Dr. Richardson is a general practice optometrist who enjoys providing a full range of optometric services ranging from children’s vision, including InfantSee exams and contact lenses, to geriatric care. He is therapeutically certified and therefore performs ocular foreign body removal, treats glaucoma and anterior segment eye diseases.
He and his wife Kathy, a pediatric nurse practitioner, are parents of two sons, Michael, and Jeff, and their daughter Erin, who passed away at age 15 due to heart complications. His outside interests include physical fitness including water skiing, biking and relaxing at the lakes.
Dr. William McIntosh is a native of Tingley, Iowa located in the southwestern county of Ringgold. He received his undergraduate education from Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Missouri.
Dr. McIntosh completed his optometric training at Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon, not far outside of Portland. He was a member of Beta Sigma Kappa academic honor society in optometry school, and graduated in 1989.
Dr. McIntosh’s professional interests are in general optometry with a focus on all types of eye care services, including contact lens fitting, eye disease and treatment, also co-managing with cataract and refractive surgery.
Dr. McIntosh, his wife Tracy, children Wesley and Kyle reside in Glidden. Dr. McIntosh enjoys family time, fishing, hunting, trap shooting, golfing and many types of music.
Dr. Thomas J. Parrish was born and raised in Auburn, Nebraska, located about an hour south of Omaha. He graduated from Auburn High School in 2007. He attended Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln, Nebraska, where he majored in biology and graduated with highest academic distinction in May 2011.
Dr. Parrish attended Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in May 2015. While at SCO, he was involved in numerous clubs and activities, including Beta Sigma Kappa academic honor society, optometric private practice club, sports vision club, and intramural sports.
Dr. Parrish enjoys practicing full scope optometry, including comprehensive family care, pediatrics, geriatrics, contact lenses, treatment and management of ocular disease, and co-managing cataract and refractive surgeries.
Dr. Parrish is married to his wife, Maggie, they have one son named Eli. Maggie is employed by DMACC in Carroll as a teacher. He enjoys family time, golfing, hunting, water and snow skiing, and trips to the Lake of the Ozarks each summer. He is also a big fan and supporter of Nebraska Cornhuskers athletics. Go Big Red!
The optometrists of Carroll Eye Care Associates are doctors specializing in vision care and are therapeutically certified by the Iowa Board of Optometry to treat medical eye diseases through the use of prescription medications.
